Special treat when you check out the gallery on the east side of Commercial Street (at 20th Ave) across from the Equinox! It is not showing on Google maps but here is the pin on the map. In 2021, I found this exhibition from Doug Rowed and partner Susan Loudon in their "Artem Exhibits" - which was showing a selection from their art from earlier years.
I was lucky to find them present at the gallery, and we had a lovely chat. They hail from the prairies, as you can quite clearly see from some of Douglas' pieces.
Their art celebrates space, Douglas' in laying out the long open spaces where 2D map and 3D perspective intersect, and Susan's in a focus on living spaces with her gorgeous Nest series.
They mentioned that they had run out of room for their art, and are planning to showcase their art in this gallery over the next while.
