Reviving an old tradition, the community came together today to welcome the Fire Dragon. Very appropriately, the story says that "In a dream, Buddha appeared before an elderly villager and told him to hold the Fire Dragon Dance to drive away the plague". Dancing will set you free, indeed!
Two new finds at our awesome local liquor store "The Gull" at Park & Tilford:
**Update Nov 23, 2021** The Gull has a new variant on this!
I enjoy beer... very much (and in moderation, of course - don't worry Mum!!). I enjoy the variety, the adventure of bringing home a new find, pouring it gently into a proper beer glass, admiring the colour, and sampling and savouring it.
I have no background in beer tasting and do not know the right terms, words, or ways to taste. I just give you my first impressions. I tend to prefer the heavy stouts, the double or triple IPAs and the Belgian triple & quads.
Special treat when you check out the gallery on the east side of Commercial Street (at 20th Ave) across from the Equinox! It is not showing on Google maps but here is the pin on the map. You can also scroll down for a picture. In 2021, I found this exhibition from Doug Rowed and partner Susan Loudon in their "Artem Exhibits" - which was showing a selection from their art from earlier years.
