Two lovely seasonal beers this year!
Firstly the Whistler Brewing Dunkel is back! I've not been too impressed with the last 2 years, but this year is again outstanding! Strong flavour of Chocolate and Orange. Check out my 2021 write up about this beer.
I recently read Hilary Steward's "Looking At Indian Art of the Northwest Coast" which opened my eyes in how to parse this type of art, and I wanted to share the basics of how to recognize the elegant layout, the musical composition where white space and shape provide balance in an almost Escher-esque repetition of form. As always, the Parker Street Studios opened its doors for the Eastside Culture Crawl. Parker Street Studios is a 100-year-old Vancouver landmark, hosting 4 floors of artists diverse in style and discipline. This 152,000 square foot industrial building was originally home to the Restore Mattress factory and now features 110 studios for over 200 artists, designers, photographers, woodworkers, and more all creating under one roof.
I am a recent Wordpress refuge and have tried to figure out how Drupal works. Here are some things I've learned.

I'd had enough of the Wordpress limitations and decided to take the plunge for the site you are on right now: vancurious.ca. I'm writing this hoping it will help you, as I wished someone had laid out for me what the steps were. I found the module documentation on the drupal.org site not very helpful and a lot of other information out of date.
At first sniff, very yeasty like un-ready beer. Almost sweet to the tongue, but bitter finish. Apricot, coriander and Granny Smith. Possibly hint of petroleum in a pleasant sort of way
Really taste the hops but the alcohol percentage (9.2%) sneaks in on you.
Mainz (Germany) is located where the river Mainz intersects with the river Rhine and from Frankfurt it is a beautiful bike ride along the river Mainz on a segregated bike path. To cross the Rhine, you get to use a small track along the train bridge, which is pretty cool.
Arrival in Frankfurt airport and reassembling the bikes was much easier than we thought. A few small tears in the bike bag - I guess the end bits of the fork are rather pokey! But the bikes themselves are absolutely fine.
In 2023 - possibly due to some lingering covid cabin fever, we decided our annual trip to Europe needed more fresh air and more connection to the real world. We started considering options to bike instead of our usual rental car road trips: travel slower, and see more.
